Alan Morrison has worked with Crosbie Matthew Funeral Directors for 25 years. Joining in 1993 with 7 years’ experience already under his belt, Alan has been an integral part of the company over the years and is well known to many families he has helped with their funeral arrangements.
Alan continues to organise funerals & memorial stones and he is active in education, giving talks to nursing colleges and local groups of all kinds. He is involved in the running of the business and helps shape the way forward for Crosbie Matthew in an ever-changing funeral industry.
He has been a board member of S.A.I.F. (Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors) for 24 years and he is currently the membership secretary and treasurer.
Company Director, Sheila says ‘nothing much phases Alan, you’ll never see him panic. I remember accidentally locking my children in the car one winter’s day in the doctor’s surgery car-park. The children were hot in their coats and crying because they were buckled into their car seats and too young to open the doors. Nobody could help – the doctors, the receptionists, the police who arrived, the passers-by who were all staring. I phoned Alan, who swung by on his way to a funeral in a limousine and broke the front quarter panel window, opened the lock and kept going to his funeral. Crying children rescued!
Alan looks forward to many more years working in the business looking after local families.
